Dear church family,

Any time we go to a new place or join a new group, the question in our minds is ‘how do I have to act to be accepted, what do we have to do, what should I wear?  Today we continue our series on Galatians and Paul’s dealing with the question of what we have to do or wear or eat in order to be accepted by God?  The answer is more radical to live than I think we often realise, because the answer isn’t about what we need to do, but the faith we need to place in what’s already done, and the one who’s already cried out for us “It is finished!”

May you know this week that Jesus loves you and gave himself for you, and so whatever acceptance you seek, the one whose opinion is most important has already accepted you through faith in Christ.

Wednesday Service Suspended (Again!)

With the recent outbreak of COVID-19, being situated in a designated COVID hotspot and another 41 cases today, we’ve once again decided to suspend the Wednesday Service for those not online.  We will be reassessing week to week and I can assure you we’ll have it up and running again as soon as I and our COVID-Safe officers feel that it’s safe to do so.

In Christ,
Sam.

Vision and Mission Process

MAC Meeting this week

Your friendly MAC team met this week and did some work on our vision for the coming years.  It can be hard to lift the eyes to the future when even next month is so uncertain, but we dreamed some dreams for our church and got excited about where God is leading us as a community.  We’ll be collating the responses to our church survey and your ideas and dreams for the future and draft our church vision in the next few weeks for you to read and consider in the next month.  Watch this space!

Giving

We’re so thankful for the way in which you continue to support the church financially.  These days are very difficult for any organisation financially, and we know it can be challenging for you personally too.  At the moment our giving is over $1000 a week less than we budgeted for, which of course presents challenges for us as a church.  We have a moratorium on the repayment of our loans, and have benefited from some government grants through Job Keeper and a State Government scheme, which means we are not in dire straits yet, but would you consider how you might be able to give to the church?  You can give by envelope dropped off at the church between 2-3pm on Sundays, or you may give electronically, either anonymously or put your name as a reference, but please do also reference it as ‘giving’ to help our records.
