Dear church family,

Some times it can feel like things will never change – will we ever emerge from these restrictions?  The recent numbers certainly give us hope!  Sometimes it can feel like we can never change too, that we’ll always be locked into the same struggles we’ve had in our character and life.  One of the reasons why the gospel is good news is because it says that transformation is possible!  That God is at work for our good and to make us better.  Our sermon this week focusses on what the secret is to unlocking God’s work in our lives.

See you online!

COVID 19 CLAIMS FETE

I suspect that it will not come as a surprise to many, that disappointingly, the
2020 FETE has been cancelled/postponed.
The current Stage 4 lockdown and curfew has meant that we have not been able to progress the planning for a fete to take place in October 2020. Casey Council is not granting permits for events of this nature, until Covid 19 restrictions have been removed and the pandemic is “under control” such that mass gatherings of people can be undertaken safely with no potential of further virus transmission.
Be assured that we are not filing the event away never to return. Indeed, when
we arrive at the “new normal” I think we will be all ready to kick up our heels
and as a church family keen to provide a bigger and better fete day for the
Cranbourne Community.
Consideration has been given to rescheduling the event to March 2021. The level of uncertainty about how the pandemic will play out makes us reticent to settle on any specific date at this time. I would be happy to hear from anyone with an opinion on an appropriate date/month, as I know there are many more people in the congregation who have knowledge on broader church/community activities, which might impact on our selecting an appropriate date. Let me know via email please… batesbarbara14@gmail.com
Many people had already committed time and preparation to this year’s planning. I was going to name names, but as some parishioners had come together in groups to organise a stall, I do not wish to omit anyone or take for granted their generous offer assistance. My sincere thanks to all parishioners who had offered assistance and commenced making and preparing items/produce, to be made available for sale. I hope we can come together in the not too distant future to “do it all again”.

HELP NEEDED

After our LAST FETE… I stored some items that could be used for a future fete in a dear friends unused garage. Two years down the track they are still there!!!! This storage space will soon not be available… Currently, the boxes take up approximately ½ to ¾ of the floor space of a single car garage. Boxes may be able to be consolidated at the moving stage. Items were saleable and left over from the White Elephant/Toys/Jewellery stalls. No perishables obviously! Does anyone have space in a waterproof shed that could be used until our next fete?
