Dear church family,

Tomorrow is Father’s Day – so a very happy Father’s Day to all the Dads out there.  We’re so thankful to God for the Fathers in our community – we have a noble and good calling, a deeply powerful responsibility and a wonderful privilege to be Dads.

Of course, all that is good about being a Father finds its source in the Father.  I wonder how much you think on the Fatherhood of God?  The answer often depends on how well your own father well reflected His glories and goodness.  Sometimes we struggle to see God as Father because that word now carries with it a sadness or brokenness or anger.  If that is the case, rather than run from the Fatherhood of God as is natural, the path to healing is in fact to embrace the one who redeems and heals, and learn to see His Fatherly care.

Tomorrow is Father’s Day, and I will be doing a one off sermon from the prodigal son entitled ‘Give Dad a Call’.  This would be a good service to invite your ‘not yet Christian’ family and friends, as I will be using the story to both explain the gospel and to encourage both you and those who are not yet Christian to reconnect or connect for the first time with their heavenly father.  It’s also never been easier to invite others – a simple email with a link to our youtube channel – just copy and paste this link: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMWS6M0gMEFKCZoHfjQpsyA and tell them to watch any time after 9am next Sunday – why not give it a go?  I’ll send an email on Sunday morning with a direct link to the service that you can easily forward on.

See you online!
