Dear church family,
The road back to church
The Premier announced the roadmap out of restrictions last Sunday – what does it mean for church?
The quick answer is we will have no in-person Sunday church until the 23rd of November at the earliest (and even then only if we have no new cases statewide for two weeks).
The long answer: under the roadmap, we are not permitted to gather for church services in any form until step three (which happens the later of 26 October or we have less than an average of 5 cases statewide). After that, we are only permitted services with up to 10 people, so still not enough to return to Sunday services. However after the later of November the 23rd or two weeks statewide with no cases, we can have as many people on a Sunday as we can while maintaining social distancing and the density quotient (for us about 60 people).
It is disappointing to not be able to get back earlier – please keep praying that the current restrictions work, and keep being in touch with one another, supporting each other encouraging one another.
See you online!

New Sermon series starts this Sunday!
This Sunday we’re starting a new series on the gospel of Mark. Mark is like an action movie and Mark 1:1-15 is like the trailer – introducing its big themes and previewing some of its most explosive claims: the King is coming, the King is God and He comes to stand in our place, and so God’s kingdom is coming – repent and believe!
For an excellent introduction to and overview of the book of Mark, have a look at this video: https://bibleproject.com/explore/mark/. I highly recommend all the Bible Project resources.
For those with kids
A good overview of Mark for kids 4-8 years old is “Mark’s Marvellous Book” by Alan Mann. You can get it here:

Parish Council
Parish Council met last Tuesday. Our main work was to look at our draft budget for the coming year, noting the difficulty of forecasting what the year beyond October might look like. We also considered how we might approach the stewardship campaign this September, and the implications for us of the Victorian Government’s roadmap out of the restrictions.
