Dear church family,
It’s been great to have some good news around the COVID-19 numbers – praise God for his kindness to us in restraining a situation that a few weeks ago looked entirely out of hand. The easing of restrictions so far have done little to get us back into church; at present we are allowed 10 people outside for a service, which is too few to really enable us to meet yet (especially with all the rain we’ve been having!). I look forward to hearing the announcements tomorrow, and I’ll let you know if there are any changes to our situation early next week. I am very optimistic that we will be able to meet in some form towards the end of November if not before.
Some of you will have known Charles Stewart, who sadly passed away this week. His funeral will be on Wednesday, though with the restrictions currently in place it will be a private service. Please pray for Gladys Stewart and her family as they grieve.
This week we are taking a rare non-Good Friday look at Mark’s account of the crucifixion. The cross stands at the centre of our faith and is full of depths and meaning. This week we are going to look just one aspect of the cross; what it has to do with Jesus’ identity as King, and what it has to do with the kingdom he preached.
