Dear Church family,
It’s the first Sunday in Advent – the season in the church calendar leading up to Christmas. Advent from the earliest times of the Christian church has been a time when Christians make ready for the coming or ‘advent’ of Jesus Christ. We think firstly of his humble coming nearly 2000 years ago in Bethlehem. But we also remember that he has promised to come again in power and glory to bring us up into that glory and renew the whole creation. This week we take a pause in our series in which we look at how the Old Testament looks forward to and anticipates Christ’s first coming, to hear what Jesus himself said about his second coming, and how we’re to live in the light of it.

Re-opening Sundays

We’re re-opening church for in-person Sunday worship! When’s you’re service?
Christ Church Tooradin
Services start tomorrow! Sunday the 29th of November at 9am (limited to 15 people under the Four Square Metre rule);
St John’s Cranbourne
Services will start on Sunday the 6th of December (limited to about 60 people per service). Given the limitations, we’re needing to split the 10:30 into a 10:30am service and 6pm, and you’ll need to book in online:
- 8:30am Traditional Prayer Book Service – Book Here
- 10:30am for families, including kids program – Book Here
- 6pm Service – Book Here
Alternatively for those not online (pass this on to anyone you know who isn’t) they can simply call me on 0406 342 028 to book in.

Our Annual Meeting is tomorrow, Sunday the 29th of November at 11am at St John’s – meeting online and in person. Please do book in to come and be the first to hear a special announcement about news for next year!

Wednesday Service
Our Wednesday service is now open to anyone who would like to come. We can have up to 50 people at this communion service now, and as a mid week service there should be enough room for everyone so no booking required – we’d love to see you!
Can you help?
We urgently need volunteers to join the lawn mowing team, especially if you happen to be under 70! We have a fantastic band of brothers who put in a wonderful effort, but we need some younger blood to join the team. To outsource this job would cost us $400 a time, a cost we’d much prefer to avoid. We’d even let you loose on the ride on lawnmowers – lots of fun to be had! To join the team, please call Doug Viney on 0400 811 162.
